Mission Hill Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
The grapes from this standout wine are from the most far southern vineyards in the Osoyoos appellation and the Black Sage vineyards. Combining the heat and the dry soils of these areas enable the grapes to mature and the flavors evolve into great complexity. We mature the wine to give them a touch of oak barrel aging (10%) to add structure to the wine but no wood notes. This texture blends with the bright and intense fruit. Crisp pleasant acidity with touches of lime and lemon-grass and a hint of gooseberry. Perfect wine by itself or with light meats, fish and salads.
Mission Hill Estate Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir known as the heartbreak grape because of its difficulty growing vineyards and making the wine. This wine is made from the cooler vineyards around Kelowna near the home winery and enhanced with the fuller flavors from the vineyards in the warmer Oliver area. Great value for this versatile wine. Bright cherry notes with warm spice notes and a finish of blackberry and rhubarb. Great balance for a soft easy drinking wine. Pinot Noir including this one are recommended to be served slightly chilled. (30 minutes in the refrigerator is enough). If you are ever mixing red and white meats, then a Pinot Noir is an ideal match.
Mission Hill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
A rare wine that usually is sold just at the winery. Today it is offered after 15 month of oak barrel aging. Cabernet Sauvignon is difficult to mature in the Okanagan but these vineyards in the hot Black Sage appellation allow for maturity and deep quality fruit. Balanced notes of blackberry, savoury spices and mocha note allow for a lengthy finish. Enjoy are lovely steak with the classic wine. All of the Mission Hill wines are in the final years of organic certification and from the 2020 vintage on they will be complete. Enjoy the quality of organic in all of these wines.
